The Yoga of Laughter
Laughter Yoga was started in 1995 in Mumbai, India by Dr. Madan Kataria. It began with 5 people in a park and has now grown into a worldwide laughter movement. Dr. Kataria’s message “is world peace through laughter”. A typical session involves a blend of deep yogic breathing techniques, gentle stretching, simulated laughter exercises and the cultivation of child-like playfulness. It produces a unique physiological balance by connecting body, mind and spirit.

Laughter Yoga was started by Dr. Kataria in India in 1995. He founded a Laughter Club which soon spread throughout India and is now worldwide. His message is "World peace through Laughter." Now there is a Laughter Club in Portsmouth! A typical Laughter Yoga session is a blend of yogic deep breathing, stretching, simulated laughter exercises and cultivating child-like playfulness. It produces a unique physiological balance in our bodies by connecting body, mind and spirit. laughter Yoga can increase stamina, lower blood pressure, increase brain endorphins and serotonin, decrease stress, boost the immune system massage the internal organs and increase lung capacity.
